A strategy has been drawn up to tackle the key issues facing Gorseinon as identified initially by the Regeneration Forum. Consultations with local businesses and residents have helped to inform and shape the strategy, which will now be driven forward by Gorseinon Development Trust Ltd. The strategy's main goal and aims are as follows:

To contribute to the long term economic and social well-being of Gorseinon and to improve the quality of life of its residents.

Aims

• Securing a strong economic base at the local level
  Supporting existing businesses through the upgrading of premises and areas, attracting new investment through the creation of quality development locations and addressing unemployment.
  
• Unlocking potential
  Providing skills training for employment, increasing confidence and ensuring skills are maximised
  
• Creating a place where people want to live and work
  Improving the built environment, ensuring high quality services and promoting community safety
  
• Securing a sustainable future
  Ensuring initiatives meet the needs of the community and are developed and delivered in a sustainable way
